The Company

Our client is a specialist family violence service located in Melbourne’s Southern Region. They provide crisis accommodation, temporary housing services and outreach services to women who remain in their homes. They also offer support programs for women and children/infants such as Art Therapy.

The Opportunity

Our client is now seeking a Family Violence Case Manager to join them in their newly built 24-hour refuge in the Kingston Council area, VIC. 

Reporting to the Refuge Team Leader, some of the case management that is offered to their clients include:

  • Assess and induct clients who have been referred to the service 
  • Plan, implement and evaluate case management strategies for women and their children
  • Development of individual case plans, safety plans and family work
  • Facilitate and advocate access to a wide range of information, services and resources
  • Facilitate support groups for women and children escaping family violence
  • Uphold the organisation's values in all relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain relevant documentation, verbal and written reports and internal and external data collection as required
About You

Essential Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role including experience working with women and children who have been exposed to family violence
  • Excellent case management skills to include advocacy, assessment, development and implementation of tailored case plans
  • Demonstrated understanding of the feminist practice and how it is used as a framework to understand/respond to the gendered nature of violence against women
  • An ability to appropriately deal with pressure and maintain composure and effective communication when engaging with women and children in crisis
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate professionally with a variety of behavioural and personality types
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to use MS Office Suite to create accurate emails and reports

Essential Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work or a related discipline
  • A recent Police check
  • A Working with Children Check card
  • A current and clear Victorian Driver’s License

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will join the Financial Control team and service our Wealth & Capital Markets platform. This opportunity offers a fantastic variety of balanced financial, management accounting and analysis focussing on our Funds Management portfolio. You will be accountable for providing timely, accurate and commercially focused accounting support.

Key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Deliver effective financial performance reporting including profit & loss and balance sheet analysis.
  • Ensure the integrity of financial information in the General Ledger.
  • Timely production of sensible forecasts covering profit, balance sheet and cash flow outcomes.
  • Maintain and conduct continuous improvement of existing financial modelling as well as relevant financial control processes.
  • Financial close accounting entries for entities in assigned portfolio together with required statutory/compliance reporting.
  • Provision of support to the commercial and operational teams responsible for the assigned business portfolios.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • CA/CPA qualification coupled with relevant accounting experience ideally in a large and complex organisation. Specific experience in financial services industry is preferred.
  • Have the ability to operate effectively within an ambiguous and fast-paced environment.
  • A solid understanding and experience with financial controls and processes.
  • Competent Excel skills and computer literacy across financial software and accounting packages (e.g. TM1, SUN and Blackline).
  • Drive to achieve results within time constraints and conflicting priorities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to cultivate productive and effective working relationships.
  • You are a team player, proactive, engaged, collaborative and professional in all that you do.

The role:

We currently have a position available for an experienced Accountant to join our team in Port Melbourne.

You will be joining our tight-knit accounts' department of four and will report to the Finance Manager with your key responsibilities being the focus on end to end reporting for Australia, Canada, N.Z and the U.K.

This is an amazing opportunity for an established Accountant who is looking for a long term role where you can enjoy true accounting work and be an integral part in the smooth operation of the business. Duties include:

  • Monthly invoicing, accounts payable, inventory reconciliation for NZ - SAP based. 
  • End to end accounting for UK (DEAR software) XERO based.
  • Prepare monthly marketing and co-op spend
  • Bi-monthly BAS for NZ
  • Quarterly VAT lodgment for UK
  •  Preparation of sales reports for NZ/CA/UK.
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations for UK and the manufacturing plant.
  • Assist annual budget / forecast.
  • Assist with UK audit.

What you'll need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance and/or Commerce
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as an accountant
  • Strong written and verbal English
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Proficiency in Excel ( intermediate skills )
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP business one preferred)
  • Own the accuracy of your work
