Senior Project Manager for a Top Tier 2 Building Contractor in NSW, the Senior Project Manager must have worked on any of the following Data Centre / Health / Industrial sectors on projects of at least $50M!

The Opportunity
  • This opportunity exists due to a strong pipeline of work in the Sydney region and after recently winning several contracts.
  • The opportunity would see you join an established and experienced team in Sydney and take on projects from $50M - $150M in value.
  • It would see you take the project from tender stage through to delivery whilst also supporting and mentoring Junior Project and Site staff.
  • The builder has been established for the past 20 + years. They design, construct, and deliver across various diverse projects (educational, commercial, retail, industrial, aged care, and government).
  • Safety is an integral part of what they do along with having a huge focus on the positive culture of the business.

Key Requirements:
  • Ideally you will have completed a Bachelor of Construction Management or similar related degree or a trade qualification
  • You will have a minimum of 15 years’ experience in the building industry having worked for Tier 2 Contractor.
  • You will be required to have demonstrated experience delivering and leading new build projects $70M + in Australia. Must have experience on Data Centres / Hospitals or Industrial at large scale
  • You will be very strong on taking the project from tender stage to completion and lead the project team 
  • High level Design Management, Stakeholder/ Client Management and Contractor Management experience
  • You will have a strong commercial acumen, in-depth knowledge of programming, cost reporting and budget control
  • Displayed experience in building client relationships 
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to mention and supervise Junior PM’s / CA’s / Site Managers / Foreman
  • You will have a diverse range of project experience
  • Strong understanding of building codes in Australia / Strong subcontractor relationships
  • Great tenure with reputable head contractor is a must

We have partnered with a world leading sustainable energy system who is planning on shaping better energy, based either in the heart of Melbourne CBD or Sydney centre, while this role is remote working you will be required to join a fast paced and growing team of data professionals. Reporting directly intothe Head of Data Services and Business Analytics, you will be joining a growing, senior team.

This role is paying up to $120k with some flexibility to $130k based on experience. 

This role requires someone with a history of medium to large scale data projects with a solid understanding for data governance and various tool implementations. In addition, someone who is committed, dependable and who has an understanding and demonstrated passion for data. 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading the technical data governance framework
  • Communicating and liaising with business SME and data stewards
  • Advise on best practices regarding data management and governance guidance
  • Ensuring data quality is evaluated effectively
  • Define workflow, security and integration requirements
  • Responsible for the technical architecture and design for Metadata Management and data lineage

Your experience:

  • Solid understanding of Data governance with tools experience; high preference for Collibra
  • Open, clear communication styles
  • Avid problem solver 
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a data professional and data governance champion
  • Confident ability to advise on governance concepts, models and frameworks

  • Develop and Manage Development Practice applying best practice methodologies and industry recognised standards, processes and systems, including co-ordination of input from developers across squads to ensure they are clear about the ways of working in a Digital Agile environment
  • Develop and implement specifications, systems design, effective solutions and tools, exploring different approaches to solving problems, to enable effective delivery and enhanced ways of working
  • Drive the analysis, identification, prioritisation and implementation of improvements and efficiencies to maximise value from services, including the potential for automation of processes, determining costs and benefits of new approaches, managing change and assisting implementation where needed
  • Plan and allocate resources across squads, including build and integration activities to create operational services and support effective delivery
